Hyundai Ioniq 6 First Edition to cost £54,995 in the UK

The introductory model will be joined by two other trim levels in the coming months.

Hyundai’s new Ioniq 6 electric fastback will go on sale next month with the arrival of a high-specification introductory model, priced from £54,995. The new First Edition car will go on sale ahead of two other trim levels – Premium and Ultimate – for which pricing is yet to be confirmed.

From November 9, however, the First Edition will be available to reserve, offering a two-motor, all-wheel-drive powertrain with 321 bhp. The low drag coefficient of just 0.21 and the 77 kWh battery pack also give the car a range of up to 320 miles on a single charge.

As standard, the Ioniq 6 First Edition will be set apart by its 20-inch alloy wheels finished in matte black, as well as gloss black mouldings on the front, rear and side, not to mention the gloss black door mirror caps. Inside, the black theme continues with dark roof lining and upholstery, as well as some Grey Tartan fabric seat centre panels and Grey Tartan trim on the floor mats.

Customers also get a choice of four exterior body colours: Biophilic Blue Pearl, Serenity White Pearl, Nocturne Grey Metallic and Gravity Gold Matte. And the Ioniq 6 is the first Hyundai model to feature the new ‘H’ emblem, which is finished in black aluminium on the First Edition model.

As standard, the Ioniq 6 comes with numerous recycled materials inside, including “eco-process” leather and recycled PET fabric. Bio-TPO materials are also used on the dashboard, while bio-PET fabric is found in the roof lining. The floor mats, meanwhile, are made with Econyl, a regenerated nylon yarn.

Under the skin, the car gets an 800-volt charging system with a battery heating system that can set the battery temperature for optimum charging times. That allows the car to work with 350 kW ultra-rapid chargers, while all examples come with a one-year free subscription to the Ionity charging network through Hyundai’s pan-European integrated charging service, which offers access to more than 400,000 charging points.
