The Czinger 21C Spyder is a more extreme variant of its predecessors, featuring an innovative integrated brake system called BrakeNode. This system consolidates the suspension upright, brake caliper, and hydraulic fluid pathways into a single piece, reducing unsprung mass by 1.5 pounds per wheel and stopping distances by up to 15 percent compared to conventional setups. The front calipers use titanium pistons to keep the hydraulic fluid 15 percent cooler, and the system allows for easier serviceability, with pads replaceable from the top and rotors from the side.
Under the hood, the Czinger 21C Spyder retains the same hybrid powertrain as the HDF, consisting of a twin-turbocharged 2.88-liter V8 engine and two electric motors, delivering a combined output of 1,250 horsepower and 691 pound-feet of torque. This power enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 1.9 seconds, complete a quarter-mile in 8.7 seconds, and reach a top speed of 205 mph. With the roof removed, the Spyder generates 3,267 pounds of downforce at 150 mph, increasing to 3,307 pounds with the roof, providing high-speed stability with nearly 60 percent of the pressure rear biased.
The Czinger 21C Spyder will be produced in limited numbers, with only 30 hand-built examples planned at the company’s Los Angeles facility. Each unit will have a starting price of $2.75 million, and customers will have access to extensive personalization options. The Spyder features a full-length underbody diffuser, a seven-speed, single-clutch transaxle, and a 76-inch, swan-neck rear wing, sharing its aerodynamics package with the HDF.
