Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the updated 2027 Maybach GLS 680, set to hit dealerships later this year. This new variant boasts a refreshed exterior, a more powerful engine, and a revamped cabin. At its core is Mercedes’ latest twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine, the M1770 Evo, which delivers 603 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque, marking an increase of 53 hp and 89 lb-ft compared to the previous model. The engine is further enhanced with a second-generation starter generator for electrification.
The Maybach GLS features a revised steering system and comes standard with Airmatic air suspension. Buyers can opt for the new E-Active Body Control, which actively manages spring and damper forces to minimize roll, pitch, and lift. The exterior of the 2027 Maybach GLS is highlighted by an all-new front end with an illuminated grille surround, an illuminated Maybach grille badge, and an illuminated standing Mercedes-Benz Star, all firsts for the brand. Standard wheels are 22 inches with a 20-hole design, while optional 23-inch forged wheels feature a precision ball-bearing mechanism to maintain the wheel’s star logo alignment.
Inside, the Maybach GLS mirrors the standard GLS with the MBUX Superscreen, a triple-display setup, and the latest infotainment software. It includes Rose Gold dials, illuminated outer climate control air vents, and enhanced massaging functionality for first- and second-row passengers. The SUV is equipped with an upgraded Burmester 3D Surround System with Dolby Atmos, now featuring two additional speakers for a total of 15 and a more powerful 710-watt amplifier. While the 2027 Maybach GLS 680’s pricing has not been disclosed, it is expected to be higher than the 2026 model, which starts at $181,350.
