Rivian is preparing to land in Europe with the compact electric SUV Rivian R2, first introduced in the U.S. market.
The top Performance model, arriving in spring in the U.S. at around €50,000, offers two motors delivering 656 hp, an 87.9 kWh battery, and a 530 km range, with 21” wheels, active suspension, and matrix LED headlights. Next will come the Premium version, with more equipment, 500 hp, a 550 km range, and 20” wheels, while in 2027 the Standard will debut, with 350 hp, rear-wheel drive, a smaller battery, and a range of about 420 km.
The R2 measures 4.75 meters in length, 1.98 in width, and 1.7 in height, with 24 cm of ground clearance—features of a true off-road SUV.
With the launch of the R2, Rivian is reorganizing the lineup of its larger models, such as the R1S, gradually phasing out the more affordable LFP battery versions to avoid overlap and line cannibalization, aiming to strengthen its presence in the European electric mobility market.
