Xiaomi has made history by becoming the first technology company to design a Vision Gran Turismo car, marking it as the 51st concept vehicle in the video game franchise. This sleek electric hypercar is equipped with advanced aerodynamic features, including the Active Wake Control System. This system generates air at the back of the vehicle and uses micro-perforations around the taillight to guide airflow, effectively pushing turbulent air away from the rear. Additionally, the car boasts unique Accretion Rims, which are vortex-shaped wheel covers with turbine fins inside that cool the brakes by pulling air. Magnets keep these covers stationary during motion, minimizing drag, and the car boasts a drag coefficient of 0.29.
Inside the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo car, the company aimed to create a “Sofa Racer” experience. The design features a loop formed by the dashboard, seats, and door panels around the cabin, complemented by a slim screen at the base of the windscreen. The race-inspired steering wheel includes a screen, and the car is equipped with five-point harnesses and a row of physical switches between the seats. This interior setup is designed to provide a comfortable yet sporty driving experience, blending luxury with high-performance elements typical of a video game concept car.
The car is also technologically advanced, packed with sensors that monitor both the environment and the driver. These sensors allow the vehicle to adapt to the driver’s mood, enhancing the overall driving experience. It incorporates AI technology, steer-by-wire systems, and other futuristic features that are expected from a concept car in the Vision Gran Turismo series. This combination of cutting-edge technology and innovative design makes Xiaomi’s Vision Gran Turismo car a standout addition to the franchise, showcasing the company’s capabilities in merging technology with automotive design.
