Nissan has confirmed the 2027 Altima after earlier rumors suggested the sedan would be discontinued. The lineup starts at $29,065 for the front-wheel-drive SV, including destination, which is $210 more than last year. All-wheel drive is no longer available on the base trim and instead requires the $30,465 SR.
The Altima carries over its 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and Xtronic CVT. It produces 188 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque in FWD models, while AWD versions make 182 hp and 178 lb-ft. FWD models return an estimated 26 mpg city, 36 mpg highway, and 30 mpg combined, while AWD versions achieve 25/33/28 mpg.
The Altima remains competitively priced against rivals, though the Kia K5 starts slightly cheaper at $28,935 and uses a traditional eight-speed automatic. The Toyota Camry starts at $30,955, but its standard hybrid powertrain delivers up to 51 mpg combined, making it a more fuel-efficient option for buyers willing to spend slightly more.
