The Porsche 911, known for its iconic flat-six engine, is a beloved sports car among enthusiasts. However, some aftermarket builders are exploring electric alternatives, such as Kindred’s new electric G-Series 911. This innovative vehicle replaces the traditional gas engine with Kindred’s Grayback electric powertrain, featuring a rear-mounted electric motor that delivers 375 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, surpassing the original’s output. The car is equipped with a 400-volt, 62.2-kilowatt-hour battery, a 40/60 weight distribution, and offers a range of 225 miles.

Kindred promises that the electric 911 will maintain the car’s original character while providing a “sharper response, more predictable handling, and power delivery.” This transformation is available for 911 models built between 1974 and 1989, allowing owners to experience a modern twist on a classic vehicle. The electric conversion not only enhances performance but also aligns with the growing trend towards sustainable driving solutions.

Inside the electric 911, Kindred has incorporated several modern amenities to enhance the driving experience. These include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an upgraded HVAC system, heated front seats, a MagSafe wireless charger, and a luxurious Nappa leather interior. With production limited to just 12 units, the electric 911 is set to be a rare and exclusive offering. Kindred plans to begin production and delivery in the first quarter of 2027, with paint and options details to be revealed in August, and a starting price of $299,000.
