The 2026 Jeep Recon, an electric off-road SUV, is set to launch with its Moab trim early next year. Announced in 2022, the Recon boasts two electric motors delivering 650 horsepower and 620 pound-feet of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds.

It features four-wheel drive and the Trail Rated badge, with a rear motor having a 15:1 final drive ratio and an electric locking differential, and a front motor with an 11:1 ratio. The Moab trim includes a Selec-Terrain management system with five drive modes, including a Rock mode, and a throttle calibrated for precise torque delivery.

The Recon is slightly longer than the four-door Wrangler but has a shorter wheelbase, weighing 6,112 pounds. It is wider and nearly identical in height to the Wrangler, which offers more cargo space. The Moab trim’s 33-inch tires provide 9.1 inches of ground clearance and impressive approach, departure, and breakover angles.

Built on the STLA Large platform, the Recon features a 100.5-kilowatt-hour battery pack offering up to 250 miles of range and a top speed of 112 mph. Despite the electric powertrain, it retains Jeep’s iconic seven-slot grille with illuminated slots and U-shaped LED daytime running lights.

The Recon’s design includes a front bumper with red recovery hooks and Wrangler-inspired LED taillights. It offers removable doors with modular cargo panels, a swing gate glass, and rear quarter windows, along with a standard dual-pane sunroof and an optional Sky One-Touch Power Top.

Inside, it features a 12.3-inch driver display and a 14.5-inch infotainment screen with Uconnect 5, digital HVAC controls, and a premium Alpine sound system. With the second-row seats folded, it provides up to 65.9 cubic feet of cargo space, and a front trunk designed to fit a carry-on suitcase.

Production will begin at the Toluca Assembly Plant in Mexico, with sales starting in the U.S. and Canada before a global release, and pricing to be announced closer to the launch date.
