Omoda Jaecoo is looking to the future of efficiency with a surprising approach: not just electrification, but also the evolution of the internal combustion engine. At the 2025 Summit, the Chery group's brand presented a project aiming for 48% thermal efficiency, thanks to extreme engineering solutions like a 26:1 compression ratio and an EGR system capable of recycling 35% of exhaust gases. Innovations that could reduce fuel consumption by 2.5% for each percentage point of efficiency gained. The current Omoda Jaecoo SHS hybrid system, with a 1.5TDGI Miller cycle engine and dual electric motors, already achieves 44.5% efficiency and a consumption of just 6 l/100 km. The battery pack offers 90 km of electric range and V2L functionality up to 3.3 kW. A vision that combines pragmatism and innovation, where sustainability also comes from the warm heart of the internal combustion engine.
