Porsche restomods—especially those based on the iconic 911—are now a staple at concours events, with names like Singer, Tuthill, and Rauh-Welt Begriff dominating the scene. But one German startup, Aerfal Automotive, is taking a bold step in a different direction: reviving the ultra-rare Porsche 904. Since original 904s are prohibitively expensive, founder Daniel Robledo plans to transform the more accessible 914 chassis into a modern tribute to the classic racer, complete with structural reinforcements developed by engineering firm Multimatic.
Aerfal’s vision includes a bespoke eight-cylinder engine co-developed with Cosworth, handling expertise from Porsche legends Tuthill, and premium components from brands like Brembo and BBS. The interior will feature titanium accents, vintage leather, and even a custom chronograph from a yet-unnamed watchmaker. While still in its early stages—with only renderings and supplier discussions underway—Robledo says the groundwork is laid for production to begin soon. If successful, Aerfal’s 904 restomod could offer a rare and refreshing alternative in a 911-saturated market.
