The Bugatti Brouillard marks the debut of Bugatti’s ultra-exclusive Programme Solitaire, an initiative offering clients the ability to commission truly bespoke, one-of-one hypercars built atop Bugatti’s renowned W16 platform.
Inspired by Ettore Bugatti’s favorite horse—also named Brouillard, famed for opening its own stable door—the car merges equine grace with cutting-edge artistry.
Beneath its sculpted sheetmetal lies the most advanced version of Bugatti’s quad-turbocharged 8.0‑liter W16 engine, producing a staggering 1,578 hp—a fitting farewell to the storied W16 powertrain.
This powerplant is mated to a carbon-fibre monocoque with aluminum substructure, all wrapped in flowing, organic forms devoid of harsh lines, evoking the muscular contour of a horse.
The exterior blends classical proportions with modern aerodynamic finesse—darker tones anchor the lower third visually, while elements like horizontal LED lighting, an arrow-shaped LED rear signature, and a fixed ducktail spoiler add purposeful elegance.
Step inside, and the craftsmanship redefines automotive haute couture. The cabin is trimmed in Paris-sourced, custom-woven tartan fabrics, green-tinted carbon-fibre, machined aluminum, and leather—featuring embroidered horse motifs on doors and seats. A fixed glass roof arches over a central spine that unites interior and exterior, while the gear shifter—milled from a single block of aluminum—encases a hand-crafted miniature sculpture of Brouillard, the horse.
Only two Solitaire vehicles will be produced each year, making this pursuit of craftsmanship both rare and exceptional.
The Brouillard made its public debut at Monterey Car Week, notably at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering in California.
No official price has been disclosed, but estimates place it well north of $30 million, firmly within collector-scarce territory.
As Design Director Frank Heyl puts it, "To make something look simple is actually incredibly complex… the Brouillard was imbued with dignity."
