The only factory-owned Series I Ferrari 250 GTO is heading to auction

The auction specialists at RM Sotheby's have put a pre-auction estimate in excess of £47 million on the one-of-a-kind Ferrari 250 GTO.

A monumental opportunity has arisen for Ferrari enthusiasts and collectors worldwide. RM Sotheby's is pleased to present the only factory-owned Series I GTO to be raced by the Scuderia Ferrari, a 1962 Ferrari 330 LM / 250 GTO (chassis 3765) is set to be auctioned on 13 November 2023, at Sotheby's in New York.

With a rich racing history that includes a class win and a 2nd-overall finish at the 1962 Nürburgring 1,000 KM, this iconic Ferrari example was driven by legends like Mike Parkes and Lorenzo Bandini. The car also holds the title of runner-up in the 1962 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 1965 Sicilian Hillclimb Championship.

Formerly owned by a chairman of the Ferrari Club of America, the 330 LM / 250 GTO benefits from 38 years of meticulous care under current ownership. It has been adorned with awards such as an FCA Platinum Award, the Coppa Bella Macchina at the Cavallino Classic, and Best of Show at the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance.
