Kia’s redesigned Telluride SUV, introduced late last year, now features two new powertrain options, including a hybrid model for the first time. The 2027 Kia Telluride Hybrid begins at $48,035 for the EX FWD trim, with additional trims available, culminating in the Telluride X-Line SX Prestige AWD, which starts at just under $60,000. This hybrid model is equipped with a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, a six-speed automatic transmission, and optional all-wheel drive. It also includes electric motors and a 1.65-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery, delivering a combined output of 329 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque, surpassing the power of the previous V6 engine and the non-hybrid variant.
In the competitive landscape of three-row SUVs, the Kia Telluride Hybrid stands out as one of the few models offering a hybrid powertrain. Its direct competitor, the Hyundai Palisade Hybrid, starts at $45,760 for the 2026 model and shares the same turbocharged 2.5-liter hybrid powertrain, producing 329 hp and 339 lb-ft. Toyota’s Grand Highlander Hybrid is priced at $46,505 and offers a 2.5-liter hybrid powertrain with 245 hp combined, while the smaller Toyota Highlander Hybrid is more expensive at $48,815. Additionally, the Mazda CX-90 plug-in hybrid starts at $52,025, featuring a 2.5-liter hybrid powertrain with 323 hp, standard all-wheel drive, and an AWD option available on the EX trim for $50,035.
Kia also offers a non-hybrid Telluride for 2027, starting at $40,735, which is competitively priced against other non-hybrid three-row SUVs. This model provides a more traditional powertrain option for those who prefer not to opt for the hybrid variant. The introduction of the hybrid Telluride highlights Kia’s commitment to expanding its lineup with more fuel-efficient and powerful options, catering to a diverse range of consumer preferences in the SUV market.
