Lexus is set to launch a new sports car, initially teased with the Sport Concept in August, and now revealed to be a hybrid. The interior design is striking, with a notable absence of a central infotainment screen. Instead, Lexus has opted for a unique digital instrument display featuring smaller, winged screens alongside the main one. This display shows a 70-percent battery status, gear selection, and tire information, including temperature and pressure.
The car’s interior includes a steering yoke equipped with various physical controls, such as buttons, rockers, and switches, along with paddle shifters. The left paddle shifter, marked “RE,” likely adjusts regenerative braking levels. The Sport Coupe also introduces a new take on the LC’s drive mode stalks, positioned behind the steering wheel. The right stalk serves as the gear selector, while the left stalk, marked “Manual BEV,” is less clear, with an off button and M and N options visible.
The passenger side remains minimalistic, lacking a central infotainment screen or additional displays. A green accent runs across the dashboard and door card, adding a subtle touch. Additional controls are located at the bottom of the silver lattice accents flanking the cockpit, including buttons for power, HVAC, defrosters, surround-view cameras, brake hold, and parking. The bold interior design, particularly the absence of a central screen, may evolve before the production model’s debut.
