Autoforma, a Dutch restomod design company, has unveiled a remarkable reinterpretation of the P1800ES shooting brake from the early 1970s. The car is available in three trims, with the Forward Fashionista being the most extreme. This variant features a turbocharged T5 five-cylinder engine from Volvo, paired with a revised transmission. Autoforma has enhanced the car’s performance with upgraded brakes, improved cooling, and a quicker steering ratio. The trim also boasts reworked chassis geometry, a wider stance, and customizable bumpers with anthracite, silver, and chrome brightwork. Additional features include carbon-fiber wheel arch extensions, a front chin spoiler, and an integrated roof spoiler.
The Forward Fashionista trim is equipped with standard LED lights, two forged wheel options, an optional roof rack, and a wide range of custom paint finishes, offering the boldest color palette among the three trims. Inside, the car features a reupholstered dashboard, redesigned seats and door panels, and a new center console that extends from the dashboard to split the rear seats. Autoforma also provides optional bespoke-fitted luggage to complement the chosen interior design.
The other two trims, Heritage Heaven and Modern Marvel, cater to different preferences. Heritage Heaven pays homage to the original design language with period-correct colors and materials, focusing on mechanical upgrades for reliability. The Modern Marvel trim embraces modernization with advanced lighting options, upgraded suspension, and a broader selection of colors and materials.
