Acura

The first Japanese luxury brand was Acura, spun from Honda in 1986 to serve North American markets. The midsize Legend sedan and compact Integra were sales hits, prompting competitive Japanese automakers Nissan and Toyota to develop their own luxury brands a few years later. The 1990 Acura NSX introduced Honda’s now famous VTEC variable valve timing technology, not to mention claiming the title as the first legitimate Japanese supercar. Acura continues to offer a range luxury cars, crossovers and sport utility vehicles, as well as an all-new NSX sports car.
