Originally founded in 1909 as a French manufacturer, Bugatti achieved great success through the 1920s and 1930s with its racing and road cars. The brand folded in 1952, only to be resurrected in 1987 by an Italian entrepreneur, and subsequently sold to German-based Volkswagen in 1998. The 1990s saw the creation of the EB110, considered to be one of the greatest supercars of all time. It was succeeded by the 1,001-horsepower Veyron in 2005, the 1,200-horsepower Veyron Super Sport in 2010, and the 1,500-horsepower Chiron in 2016.
