The 01 Zagato, introduced by the Capricorn Group, is a hand-built carbon-fiber supercar that emphasizes an emotional driving experience over cutting-edge technology. This German company, known for supplying components to various racing clients, has crafted a mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive vehicle with a carbon-fiber exterior by the renowned coachbuilder Zagato. The supercar is powered by a Ford-sourced supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 engine, paired with a five-speed dogleg manual transmission, producing 888 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in under 3.0 seconds and reach a top speed of 224 mph.
Capricorn Group’s focus on driving joy is evident in the 01 Zagato’s design, which includes bespoke components like a dry pump lubrication system and a proprietary ECU tune. The car features Brembo carbon ceramic brakes and six-piston calipers, housed within Capricorn-designed 21-inch wheels. Inside, the cabin is minimalist, with three analog gauges, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and fixed-position seats. The interior is predominantly carbon fiber, with switchgear made from solid titanium and aluminum, and seats upholstered in Connolly leather with Alcantara accents.
The 01 Zagato’s design prioritizes consistent downforce through internal airflow management and underfloor design, rather than relying on aerodynamic elements like wings. It includes front and rear diffusers and a subtle rear airfoil, complemented by various intakes and outlets. The supercar’s carbon-fiber chassis features a monocoque, crash members, and a double-wishbone, pushrod suspension system. Capricorn Group plans to produce only 19 units of the 01 Zagato, starting in the first half of 2026, with each priced at €2.95 million ($3.4 million), and they will not be available in the United States.
