Special Edition Civic celebrates iconic video game's 25th anniversary.

I'm not what you'd call a gamer, but everyone from my generation surely remembers the iconic Sega game, Sonic the Hedgehog. In fact, our super-fast blue hero turns 25 this year, and to celebrate, Honda will debut a one-off Civic Sedan with a Sonic-themed wrap at this weekend's Comic-Con in San Diego. Forget about Pokémon Go – Sonic is way cooler.

What started as a run-of-the-mill Civic Touring Sedan was customized by York, Pennsylvania-based Fox Marketing Cars, and includes a number of upgrades, starting with a bespoke vinyl wrap and paint scheme. From there, Fox added new wheels that match Sonic's red shoes and the game's infamous gold rings, a black grille, and a yellow Honda badge. We don't have any interior photos, but Honda says the showcar has special seats with Katzkin blue leather and special Sonic the Hedgehog logos. What's more – gamers, rejoice! – there's a new Rockford Fosgate audio/visual system in the trunk, with two 500-watt, 10-inch subwoofers; two 400-watt amplifiers; and a floor-mounted, flip-up, 32-inch television to for game play.

Obviously, this car is purely for show, but it's a cool way for Comic-Con-goers to play Sonic the Hedgehog during the game's sold-out 25th Anniversary event at San Diego's House of Blues. In the meantime, I'll be scanning the local Craigslist pages for used Sega Genesis consoles...
