Brabus Is Building a Freakin' Island
Located in Abu Dhabi, Brabus Island will have four residential towers, 100 villas, and waterfront views all around.
Automaker-branded real estate is a booming business. Aston Martin and Porsche both have skyscrapers in Miami, soon to be followed by Bentley, Mercedes-Benz, and Pagani. Bugatti, meanwhile, is building a massive 171-story-tall tower in Dubai. And soon, Brabus will have—not just one skyscraper—but an entire freakin’ island.
Set to be built in the heart of Abu Dhabi in the Al Seef District, Brabus Island looks like a lovely weekend retreat for your favorite supervillain. Early renderings show a massive property spanning just over 1 million square feet (or, 100,000 square meters), located just a few minutes from Zayed International Airport and the Abu Dhabi city center, and less than an hour from Dubai proper.
The renderings show four sizable skyscrapers near the center of the island that are home to townhouses and apartments. Each tower holds up to 350 luxury apartments and townhomes ranging from two- to four-bedroom units, and stretching anywhere from 1,100 to 5,000 square feet.
The towers are meant to evoke Brabus’s "unmistakable design philosophy," although they look like any modern skyscrapers with a few Brabus logos scattered about. They're surrounded by 100 single-family "villas," all on waterfront or beachfront property.
The residential properties opt for a minimalist approach, with three exciting colors to choose from: Black and Bold, White Bliss, and Gray Haven. Brabus says you can further customize the interior with different materials and textures as you would one of its “tailor-made” supercars.
"Brabus Island is both an incredible milestone and an evolution that makes sense," says Brabus CEO Constantin Buschmann. "For nearly five decades, Brabus has built products that move people—emotionally, viscerally, physically. But this is different. Now, for the first time, we’re not just designing vehicles for a lifestyle—we’re designing the lifestyle itself. Brabus Island is an exciting and very significant design opportunity, and Abu Dhabi is exactly the right place for it."
Brabus hasn't said when construction starts or how much each residence will cost. But if you have to ask...
