After being announced a few weeks ago, the Volvo EX30 Cross Country, the Swedish electric compact SUV, makes its debut. To mark the occasion, it has been fitted with a range of off-road accessories, including steel skidplates for the underbody and other special aesthetic details.

As with the rest of the Volvo Cross Country family, the more adventurous EX30 is available with four-wheel drive from €54,400. Click here for full details.

Volvo EX30 Cross Country 2025: the exterior

Volvo's first Cross Country car dates back to 1997, when the first V70 with the name debuted, a specially raised estate car designed to cope with the roughest of terrains without sacrificing motorway comfort.

The same formula returns, after a good 28 years, to the new EX30 Cross Country, which, compared to the version already on the market, features (not as standard but as optional extras) special, larger wheels, with the option of 18-inch off-road tyres to make off-roading even easier, special front and rear skidplates, enlarged wheel arches and a tailgate and front bumper with a darker colour than the rest of the bodywork.

But that's not all: in the front grille, which is closed because this is an electric car, the designers have chosen to install a cover engraved with a work of art that reproduces the topography of the Kebnekaise mountain range in arctic Sweden.

Volvo EX30 Cross Country 2025: The interior

As for the interior, the Volvo EX30 Cross Country is equipped with all the technology we have come to expect from a crossover over the years, as well as all the practical elements of an electric car, such as the many storage compartments.

Like all versions, the Cross Contry features the Google infotainment system, a versatile centre tunnel that folds out to act as a cup holder and a large floor stowage compartment between the driver and front passenger.

What do you think?

Mechanically, however, the EX30 Cross Country is based on the EX30's dual-motor, four-wheel-drive version: the Twin Motor Performance AWD with 428 PS, 543 Nm of torque and a 69 kWh battery (gross), a combination that, on paper at least, should enable it to tackle even the most difficult dirt or snowy roads, thanks also to a new, slightly raised stance to increase ground clearance and improve approach and departure angles.

Volvo EX30 Cross Country 2025: Prices

The Volvo EX30 Cross Country will be available in the UK, but pricing will be announced at a later date. As a reference, the prices in Italy start at €54,400 (approx. £45,300) and in Germany €57,290 (£47,700), a value that can easily be raised thanks to the rich list of after-sales accessories with which you can equip it according to your needs, including the great Cross Country Experience package that for €3,290 (£2,700) includes the roof rack with roof basket, front and rear mudflaps and the 18-inch all-terrain wheel kit.
