Dodge: Gas-Powered Charger Sixpack Will Arrive by Summer
It can't come soon enough for the troubled brand.
Speaking to dealers at the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) convention in New Orleans, Stellantis confirmed the new combustion-powered Dodge Charger Sixpack will finally reach dealers "by summer 2025." A specific date wasn't announced, but if we take this literally, expect it to arrive no later than June 20.
The Sixpack will supplement the electric Charger Daytona, which has only just now started reaching dealerships. Both versions debuted back in March 2024, though emphasis was placed on the EV, which was supposed to arrive last summer. That obviously didn't happen, though to Dodge's credit, things got a tad dramatic later in the year when former CEO Carlos Tavares abruptly resigned. So we can cut them some slack.
At this point, we're still waiting on Dodge to give us full details on the Charger Sixpack. The twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter Hurricane I-6 is the only engine choice, though it's available with either 420 or 550 horsepower. We also know it will be sold in two-door and four-door guise, just like the Charger Daytona, and all-wheel-drive will be an option. Further information has yet to materialize, though we'll assume it's at least capable of doing a burnout.
The announcement came as Dodge's parent company Stellantis assured dealers things were changing for the better. Dodge sales plummeted last year, as did all major North American brands under Stellantis. Dealers openly called out former Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares for the "rapid degradation" of Dodge, Ram, Jeep, and Chrysler.
“As we look at the year ahead, we recognize that consistency is what our dealers are seeking from us,” said Jeff Kommor, head of U.S. sales for Stellantis. “Following a challenging 2024, we told dealers—directly—that we will be consistent and focus on gaining their trust, especially when it comes to our products, our pricing, and our incentives."
