When he returned it, she claims there was a surprising item waiting inside: A Delta Air Lines name tag bearing the name Stacey.

“POV: Somebody help me find Stacey, the flight attendant that was in my car,” she wrote in the video’s text overlay.

As of Tuesday, her clip had racked up more than 940,000 views.

What Happened?

The video appears to be authentic.

Marie used the hashtag #cheatersgettingcaught and posted a since-deleted follow-up asking viewers for tips on who Stacey is.

But commenters quickly shifted the focus.

Rather than going after Stacey, many urged Marie to confront her boyfriend. After all, they said, he’s the one in a relationship.

“Stacey don’t need to be found,” one woman commented. “Check ur man, u don’t know what he told her.”

“Girl, why you need Stacey when you know where your man at,” another asked.

“You asking us who Stacey is why you ain’t asking him?” a third viewer echoed.

Stacey Or “Stacey”

As Marie searches for a real person named Stacey, some viewers pointed out that airline name tags aren’t always accurate.

On Reddit’s Delta page, users explained that while employee badges must include a legal name, name tags—often referred to as “wings”—can feature chosen or fake names.

“The employee badges must have your legal name, but name tags/wings can be a chosen name,” one Redditor wrote. “I once worked with a pilot whose wings said ‘F. Abagnale.’” This is a reference to the man who inspired the 2002 film Catch Me If You Can.

“The names on the name bars and wings can be fake, but the actual employee badge is their real name,” another said.

That practice isn’t just quirky, however; it’s a safety measure.

According to One Mile at a Time, Delta faced backlash when it proposed new name tag policies requiring real names, with flight attendants warning they could face increased harassment.

In the blog’s comments, one alleged Delta worker detailed her experience.

“I've had passengers corner me in the galley, try to film up my skirt, masturbate while looking at me, snort drugs openly,” they said. “We wear name tags (often with a nickname or false name because MANY of us have been stalked online by ill-intentioned passengers) … Why risk my safety for no reason?”

Other major employers, like Walmart, also let workers swap out their name tags regularly.

Mixed Opinions of Stacey

In comments on Marie’s post, some similarly put the blame on Stacey.

“Ooo Stacey girl step to the front! You ain’t see that pink steering wheellll,” wrote one of the name tag left behind in Marie’s Mercedez.

Another said, “Imagine you trying to mark your territory by leaving ya name tag only to find out it ain’t even that man car.”

A few defended Stacey’s possible motives for leaving the name tag behind.

“Stacey did that on purpose, you need to thank her,” one person wrote. “She’s clearly not the only one either.”

“I’m on Stacey’s side,” another added. “She’s trying to help you because there ain’t no way you’d find this if he wasn’t in YOUR car.”

And some viewers applauded Marie for staying relatively calm.

“I’d be visiting Delta personally every location in the area,” one joked.
