The Toyota Corolla, traditionally known as a compact commuter car, can now offer an exhilarating driving experience with the right configuration. While modern buyers have the option of a 300-horsepower hatchback with all-wheel drive, Tom’s Heritage provides a more iconic choice with a fully restored Corolla Levin AE86. This restoration program not only enhances the car’s appearance but also includes significant powertrain upgrades.
Tom’s Heritage has introduced a comprehensive Corolla program that extends beyond cosmetic improvements. The program features upgrades to the 1.6-liter four-cylinder 4A-G engine, increasing its output to 188 horsepower from the original 158 hp. This enhancement is part of a frame-off restoration and repair process, ensuring the car is restored to its former glory with modern performance capabilities.
The restoration package also includes new 15-inch lattice-style wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza RE-11RS tires, adding to the car’s aesthetic and driving performance. Tom’s offers a complete package starting at ¥16,500,000 (approximately $104,000), which includes the car. For those who already own a Corolla Levin AE86 and wish to benefit from the restoration and upgrades, the package starts at ¥13,200,000 ($83,000). While the all-new GR Corolla is more affordable, it lacks the iconic appeal of the fully restored AE86.
