A pristine Mercedes-Benz 500SL, purchased on November 30, 1982, and stored in a climate-controlled garage for 42 years, is now set to be displayed. The car, with only 42 miles on its odometer, was originally bought for £24,400 and features a 5.0-liter V-8 engine with 240 horsepower. It includes optional extras like air conditioning, heated seats, and Blue Green Metallic paint, adding £2,331 to the purchase price.

The 500SL, in excellent condition with no corrosion, retains its original factory stickers and comes with sales documents. Despite not being rare, cars in such pristine condition attract collectors. This particular model will be displayed at SLShop’s Warwickshire headquarters in England, as per the owner’s wishes.

SLShop founder Sam Bailey stated that the car will never be sold but will remain in a dedicated climate-controlled space as a tribute to the owner’s passion. It will also make limited public appearances at Mercedes-Benz World, ensuring it is admired by future generations and not hidden away for another 40 years.
