Ford is expanding its pickup lineup once again—this time with a fully electric, compact truck. Unlike the larger F-150 Lightning, this new model is expected to be closer in size to the Maverick, offering a more affordable and efficient entry point into the EV truck market.

Built on Ford’s new “Universal EV Production System,” the truck is designed to lower manufacturing costs while delivering strong performance and practicality. It’s projected to start around $30,000, deliver power comparable to an EcoBoost Mustang, and provide more interior space than a Toyota RAV4.

At the core of the truck is Ford’s upcoming “Universal EV Platform,” a streamlined architecture that uses 20% fewer parts and 25% fewer fasteners than traditional builds. This efficiency will help Ford scale EV production while keeping prices competitive. Here’s what we know so far about Ford’s bold move into mid-size electric pickups.
