The 2026 Honda Prelude marks the return of one of Honda’s most iconic nameplates, reimagined for the modern era with a hybrid twist. Retaining its sleek two-door coupe form, the new Prelude blends sporty proportions with a more refined, contemporary design. Signature elements like the long hood, low-slung roofline, and liftback rear give it a classic coupe silhouette, while updated lighting, aerodynamic lines, and a bold front fascia signal its forward-looking character. The result is a car that feels nostalgic yet unmistakably modern.

Under the hood, the Prelude features a two-motor hybrid powertrain that produces around 200 horsepower and 232 lb-ft of torque, striking a balance between efficiency and sporty responsiveness. It shares much of its underpinnings with the Civic Hybrid, but incorporates performance elements inspired by the Civic Type R—like adaptive dampers, a dual-axis front suspension, and strong Brembo brakes—recalibrated for a more balanced, grand touring experience. A new system called “S+ Shift” allows the driver to simulate gear changes via paddle shifters, adding engagement even without a traditional transmission.

Inside, the Prelude continues its blend of comfort and sport with a 2+2 seating layout and a well-equipped, driver-focused cabin. Features include leather-trimmed sport seats, a digital instrument cluster, a modern infotainment system with Google built-in, and customizable drive modes. The rear seats fold down to provide surprising practicality, thanks to the liftback design. Overall, the 2026 Prelude is positioned as a stylish, fun-to-drive hybrid coupe that pays homage to its roots while confidently stepping into the future.
