Chrysler Might Actually Build An Off-Road Minivan
An off-road minivan could be exactly what Chrysler needs right now.
The Breakdown:
- Chrysler might put the Pacific Grizzly Peak concept into production.
- Internal support for the vehicle is growing.
- The concept debuted with a suspension lift, all-terrain tires, and a tweaked interior.
Last summer, Chrysler introduced an overlander based on the Pacifica minivan. The brand called it the Grizzly Peak concept, which featured an assortment of off-road-oriented upgrades. Now, Chrysler might actually put it into production.
According to MoparInsiders, sources close to the publication revealed that the automaker is considering putting the concept into production. A final decision hasn't been made yet, but there is reportedly internal support for the off-road Pacifica.

The Chrysler Pacifica Grizzle Peak concept debuted with 2.8-inch front and 2.5-inch rear suspension lifts, 31-inch BFGoodrich KO2 all-terrain tires wrapped around 18-inch wheels, and all-wheel drive. The automaker also included aftermarket overlanding accessories such as the Rhino-Rack roof storage rack, auxiliary lighting, and the retractable ARB awning.
Inside, the automaker removed the third-row seats, expanding the storage capability. Chrysler also added orange seat belts, Katzkin leather seats, and a Cement Gray and Liquid Titanium color scheme.
At the time of the van’s reveal, former Chrysler CEO Chris Feuell said the brand was "excited to get feedback from the van-life adventurers." But she is no longer leading the brand. Dodge CEO Matt McAlear took over as Chrysler’s boss in March.

Motor1’s Take: Chrysler is not doing much right now, with just one model in the lineup. A rugged Pacific won’t move the needle much in terms of sales, but it would differentiate it from other minivans on the market that don’t offer an overlanding variant.
