Update 2: Toyota did not reveal its new sports car on Monday. Instead, the automaker unveiled a new Corolla concept and kicked off a countdown to December 4 on its Toyota Gazoo Racing website. It reads "The Soul Lives On." Check it out, and set your watches.

Update: Toyota has released even more details on the upcoming debut, including teaser photos of a billboard posted at Fuji Speedway that shows the front end of the new sports car alongside the LFA and 2000GT. The photos were posted to the automaker's X page (formerly Twitter). The story has been updated to reflect that.

It looks like Toyota has big plans this upcoming Monday in Japan. A teaser website suggests that the automaker will make several announcements across all of its brands, including GR, Crown, and yes, even Daihatsu. Toyota hasn't revealed the specifics of what it plans to unveil, but the landing page does offer a few hints that we can read into. It says (translated):

'The sign at Fuji Speedway has changed. On the left is the 2000GT. Next to it is the LFA. And next to that...?'

It links to the Toyota Times YouTube channel for the livestream—but that's about it. The company also sent out a few mysterious tweets showing a billboard at Fuji Speedway with a teaser of its upcoming sports car. We're curious exactly what Toyota will announce, but given this recent news, it's likely no accident that the company mentions the 2000GT and LFA.

Monday might provide our first look at Toyota's new GR GT3 race car, which previews the upcoming Lexus LFR. Toyota Racing President David Wilson previously hinted that the car would make its racing debut at the 2026 Daytona 24 Hours in January, which is less than four months away, and we still haven't seen the racer.

The GR GT3 is supposed to arrive before the road-going Lexus equivalent, but we might get a glimpse of the sports car in some form on Monday. The luxury brand recently unveiled a not-so-subtle concept that bears a striking resemblance to prototypes we've spotted out testing.

The company hasn't disclosed any details about the specs, but the prototypes that the automaker is testing have been spotted with yellow stickers, indicating a hybrid powertrain is likely. The battery pack is likely paired with a V-8 engine.

Either way, Toyota has a lot it could announce in just a few days. We hope to learn more about the GT3 and LFR, but the automaker might have entirely different plans. GR, Daihatsu, and Crown are also listed. So, tune back in next week for the details.
