Resurrected Renault 5 now available at just £249 a month
Here's a dilemma - drink another coffee or use the budget for a shiny new EV?
The Renault 5 is back, and it’s not just a nostalgia trip. This pint-sized electric hatch has gone full eco-friendly while keeping its retro charm. With prices starting at a cheeky £22,995 on-the-road, Renault isn’t just trying to win hearts – they’re gunning for wallets too. And now, it’s easier than ever to snag one, thanks to some tempting financing in the United Kingdom.
From January through March, Renault’s rolling out a buffet of Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) offers that might make your coffee budget blush. Fancy the urban-styled Renault 5 E-Tech Evolution? It’s yours for £249 per month, over 48 months at a 5.5 per cent APR – with a £555 deposit contribution thrown in. Prefer the VIP treatment? The top-spec Renault 5 E-Tech Iconic comfort is £319 monthly, with £955 chipped off the deposit.

But wait, there’s a twist: for those allergic to interest rates, Renault’s offering a 0 per cent APR PCP deal. Toss in a hefty 30 per cent deposit, and you could be cruising the streets in the Evolution model for just £182 per month over two years. That’s less than some people’s coffee habit.
As we have already reported, the new Renault 5 comes with a selection of two batteries and two electric motors. Choose between a zippy 40 kWh setup with 120 PS or a long-haul 52 kWh battery boasting 150 PS and up to 248 miles of range. Even better? It’s got clever vehicle-to-load (V2L) tech, meaning it can lend a charge to your gadgets or even power a picnic blender.
For those eager to get ahead of the queue, Renault’s offering a £150 VIP R Pass. It’s basically a golden ticket for early orders, plus a few extra perks. But act fast – they’re only available until the ordering floodgates open in January 2025.
