Reborn Renault 5 lands in the UK starting at £22,995
Order books will open in January 2025.
The Renault 5 is making a triumphant return, but this isn’t your grandparents’ hatchback. The beloved classic has been reimagined for the electric age, and the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric is set to hit UK roads starting at a wallet-friendly £22,995. Mark your calendars – orders open in January 2025, with test drives revving up in March.
This pint-sized spark plug of a car comes in three trims – Evolution, Techno, and Iconic five – so there’s a flavour for everyone, whether you’re a minimalist, a tech enthusiast, or a retro-lover. Buyers can also pick between two powertrains: the zippy 120 bhp Urban range or the beefier 150 bhp Comfort range. Whichever you choose, Renault promises that the new 5 is as fun to drive as it is to look at. Full UK pricing is available below.

The new Renault 5 is packed with Google services, offering EV-optimised navigation to help you dodge range anxiety. And speaking of range, you’ll get up to 248 miles on a single charge, depending on your setup. Need a quick top-up? It can juice up to 80 per cent in just 30 minutes. One quirky detail sure to delight: a bonnet-mounted charging indicator. It’s like a neon sign for your eco-friendly credentials.
While it tips its hat to the 70s classic with its charmingly boxy shape, the new Renault 5 is no relic. Built on the AmpR Small platform, this EV is light, agile, and nimble enough to tackle urban jungles. Weighing in at just 1,449 kg, it’s a featherweight in the EV world, but don’t let that fool you – it’s roomy enough to seat five humans and boasts a respectable 326-litre boot.
