This AMG G63 is a 1,063 PS homage to Lewis Hamilton
The fastest G-Class of all time tips its hat to the fastest Mercedes driver of all time
What looks like a very out-of-control Mercedes Formula 1 car is in fact the new HOF "Sir Class". Strange name, completely crazy performance data, because this Mercedes-AMG G63 delivers 1,063 PS. And no, you haven't made a mistake.
The reason behind the creation of this G monster also seems a little strange at first glance. The builder wants to pay tribute to seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton and his legacy, and it does so on his website with somewhat corny words.
All relatively easy to cope with in the end, because firstly the G in Mercedes-AMG-Petronas livery looks really quite cool and secondly it is terribly fast. 186 mph fast, to be precise. Rarely has a box achieved more speed.
This is HOF's debut model. Tuning enthusiasts will probably recognise the first three letters, and yes, the company did indeed originate from Hofele Design, where Mercedes-Benz vehicles have been pimped for decades. At the helm is a man named Ferdinand Peter. He is supported by a team led by ex-AMG boss Philip Schiemer. It really could be worse.
The first impact is correspondingly powerful. The familiar 4.0-litre biturbo V8 has really been put through the wringer. The upgrade includes forged aluminium pistons and reinforced connecting rods, optimised turbos, an aluminium airbox, a better fuel pump, a reinforced gearbox and a "special" software update.
All of this results in the aforementioned 1,063 PS and a hefty 1,300 Nm of torque. Just for information: a G63 produces 585 PS and 850 Nm as standard. And just for context: AMG's in-house hypercar One produces just four metric horsepower more at 1,067 PS. HOF's Mega-G accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 3.5 seconds. The aforementioned 186 mph top speed also sounds somewhat frightening.

Naturally, the rest of the shooting party has also been adapted to the insane performance and the Hamilton theme. The "Sir Class" has a set of huge carbon-ceramic brakes, that crazy silver-to-black-with-turquoise paintwork, forged 23-inch wheels with carbon covers, a carbon body kit including bonnet, a new chassis, ceramic exhaust trims, heaps of leather and Alcantara and an absolutely gorgeous Formula 1-style steering wheel. The HOF team also added a starry sky on top.
"The development of the car was perfectly aligned with the last season of one of the greatest drivers of all time, Sir Lewis Hamilton," says HOF.
"With the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix marking the end of his extraordinary journey with Mercedes, this car is a tribute to a career that has exceeded all expectations and cemented his place as the greatest Formula 1 driver in history."
