TUNE IT! SAFE! has taken the wraps off a modified Chevrolet Corvette.

Sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Transport and the Association of Automobile Tuners (VDAT), the one-off model was built by TIKT Performance and features a carbon fiber body kit that includes a front lip spoiler, extended fender flares, and sporty side skirts.  The car also has a police livery, a Hella police lighting package, and a carbon fiber rear spoiler.  Rounding out the changes are 19- and 20-inch RR-1 forged alloy wheels with a grey finish and Hankook Ventus S1 evo tires.

Power is provided by a 6.2-liter V8 engine that develops 459 bhp (466 PS / 343 kW) and 464 lb-ft (630 Nm) of torque.  It is connected to a seven-speed manual transmission which allows the car to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 4.2 seconds before hitting a top speed of 180 mph (290 km/h).

TUNE IT! SAFE! was founded in 2005 and promotes safe and responsible tuning that complies with all legal requirements.  In order to highlight their message, the organization has created a number of custom cars over the years including an Abt Audi R8 GTR, an AC Schnitzer ACS4 2.8i Coupe and a Brabus-tuned Mercedes A-Class.
