The upcoming seven-seat SUV from Skoda will receive its official debut during the 2016 Paris Motor Show.

We’ve heard from a very reliable source from the company that the vehicle will be ready to hit the streets by the end of 2016. An online debut will likely occur in the summer, while the official public premiere will be held during the Paris Motor Show from 1 to 16 October.

Tentatively named Snowman, the SUV will be based on an extended version of the MQB platform and will be positioned above the Yeti crossover. The vehicle will get a standard front-wheel drive system, while optionally customers can also get an all-wheel drive system. Expect a lineup of familiar diesel and petrol units, mated to 6-speed manual or DSG automatic transmissions. The model will be manufactured at the company's Kvasiny factory in Czech Republic.

In other related news, Skoda is also preparing some “surprises” for 2016, but no exact details have been given. Most likely, the automaker is working on the facelifted version of the Octavia that will receive double headlight layout, according to a recent rumor. This new headlight arrangement will be flanked by a redesigned grille that will look like the one on the Superb.
