‘Never Knew This Was A Thing’: Woman Scrolls Through Apple CarPlay. Then She Realizes A Hidden Feature Lets You Order A Dr. Pepper

Modern cars have so many features that it’s nearly impossible to memorize all the options. One woman says that she found a particularly surprising feature hidden in Apple CarPlay: the ability to order a Dr. Pepper.

Creator Santana (@santanitizer) recently revealed how it works. Her TikTok about it has generated over 1.2 million views as of this writing.

“I never knew this was a thing,” she captions the post. “I am now just finding out, after years of having my car, that I can order from Apple CarPlay,” she says. 

Santana demonstrates that you can order Chick-Fil-A from an app within Apple CarPlay. Within the app, she orders a large Dr. Pepper. “Are you kidding me,” she concludes.

Apple CarPlay Has People Seeing Big Bucks

Many viewers jokingly suggested that this information could be dangerous.

“Hey delete this so I forget about it,” one person wrote.

Another added, “This is very dangerous to me.”

“I found that out sitting in traffic one day.. like why is that even an option,” a third chimed in.

One quipped, “This seems so big back to me.”

Others added their own suggestions about various apps available within Apple CarPlay.

“You can check in for Target pick up too,” one added.

“If Amazon is on there I’m hiding this video from my wife,” a second joked.

Can You Shop With Apple CarPlay?

Shopping and driving are a combination most of us typically don’t consider. But with Apple CarPlay, it is indeed possible to do so. Apple CarPlay connects with your vehicle's infotainment system, dashboard controls, and steering wheel, and can listen to voice commands.

Apple CarPlay includes many different applications ranging from navigation, entertainment, news, music, messengers, shopping, parking, and EV charging stations, Kelley Blue Book (KBB) reports.

In her post, Santana reveals how to enable shopping within Apple CarPlay. 

“iPhone Settings > General > CarPlay > [Your Car] to ensure apps are in the ‘Include’ list,” she commented on her post.

If you do this, Apple CarPlay will list every app available. KBB reports that, in addition to Chick-Fil-A, restaurant apps include Domino’s, Panera Bread, Dunkin' Donuts, and others.
