Mazda is still selling the first generation "6" sedan in China and for the 2015MY it has received a massive price cut.

Local joint venture FAW-Mazda started making the first "6" back in 2003 and it's still on sale today at a starting price of 129,800 yuan (about $20,718) whereas the 2014MY kicked off at 164,800 yuan ($26,305). This huge price reduction could mean the first generation Mazda6 will likely be phased out in the near future.

Until then, it will be sold alongside the second generation Mazda6 called "Ruiyi" and the third-gen commercialized as the Mazda6 "Atenza". All three of them are locally manufactured by FAW-Mazda and the first generation can be had only with a four-cylinder 2.0-liter gasoline engine developing 145 bhp (108 kW) and 183 Nm (135 lb-ft) of torque channeled to the wheels through either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission.
