Opel set to receive 300 million euros in aid from Spain
Opel is still waiting on a decision by the German government for aid there. Opel is asking for a loan guarantee of €1 billion ($1.2 billion) from Germany to fund its European operations which are based there.

Fiat, Magna International and the European Opel Dealer Association are all interested in a stake in the German automaker. The most aggressive bidder is Fiat, which is seeking to take over all of GM Europe's operations to create a global car making giant.
