Porsche suspends relationship with tennis star Maria Sharapova
Porsche has suspended its relationship with tennis star Maria Sharapova following her admission that she failed a drug test that was conducted at the Australian Open earlier this year. The former Porsche brand ambassador claims she has been taking the drug Meldonium for the past ten years as prescribed by her doctor. However, the drug was recently added to the sport's banned substances list in January. Sharapova contends she is taking the drug because she has a magnesium deficiency and a family history of diabetes but USA Today points out officials believe a number of athletes take Meldonium to "boost endurance and help recovery."
