Don’t call it a Hyundai. The G90 is an entirely new flagship sedan from the Genesis brand, now its own division within the Hyundai Motor Company. The G90 builds upon lessons learned from the original Hyundai Genesis, not to mention the larger Equus that came after. But in all measurable ways, the G90 blows those previous models out of the water, offering the most luxurious experience to come out of Korea to date.

Following our First Drive of the G90 in British Columbia, Canada, we spent some time with a biturbocharged V6 model at our office in Detroit, to take a closer look at the Genesis’ merits as a daily driver. With prices starting in the high-$60,000 range, the G90 hits right in the heart of the fullsize luxury segment, with cars like the Cadillac CT6 and Lexus LS square in its sights.

So, does this genesis of Genesis have what it takes to play in the highly competitive luxury segment? Is it a proper flagship for this new brand? Find out as we explore the finer points in our latest Why Buy video, above.
