Someone did make a bid of $460,000 to buy the supercar, but that wasn’t enough to meet the seller’s reserve.

A lovely car no doubt, the 1997 Lamborghini Diablo Roadster VT was ordered by none other than Donald Trump with a bespoke “Le Mans Blue” paint. According to the current owner, it’s the only 1997MY car in the world to come with this hue custom made for the U.S. presidential candidate. Riding on the optional 18-inch wheels, the car has covered only 15,277 miles (24,586 kilometers) and appears to be in pretty good condition. As a matter of fact, the eBay ad is saying the car “looks and drives as new.”

We are looking at the VT (Viscous Traction) version of the open-top raging bull from Sant’Agata Bolognese, so it’s the all-wheel-drive model with the AWD hardware derived from the fantastic LM002 a.k.a “Rambo Lambo.” The Diablo’s naturally-aspirated 5.7-liter V12 engine pushes out a meaty 492 horsepower channeled to the ground through a five-speed manual gearbox.

Going over road bumps shouldn’t be a concern because the car comes fitted with a front lifting system, so the precious front bumper should be fine when driving over speed cushions. The all-paw Diablo Roadster also features a removable top made from carbon fiber, along with paint protection film on the hood, mirrors, and both bumpers.

As for the interior, the two-tone leather upholstery is in “pampered condition” and the car comes bundled with all the original books, tool bags, keys, pouches, and window stickers.

Donald Trump is without any doubt an eccentric individual, so it comes as a surprise the Diablo VT Roadster looks so clean. That being said, the asking price of more than $460,000 is insane taking into account similar cars are up for grabs for way less. For example, there’s a yellow 1999MY in RHD specification with 12,478 miles (20,082 km) on the clock available for $326,965 on Classic Driver and that one too looks mint.
