If you’re not familiar with Singer Vehicle Design, you’re missing one of the greatest things in the automotive space right now. These carefully recreated examples of classic Porsche 911s are some of the most stunning cars on the road today, and I’m always honored to be in the presence of one.
The car featured here is a 964 Targa “Luxemburg,” painted Deep Orange and paying homage to the original ’65 Targa. Nestled in its rump is a 4.0-liter flat-six engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission, and it looks every bit the part of a classic 911 updated to modern times. (One small fun fact: The Targa hoop only has two air louvers, as opposed to the normal three.)
Amazing as the exterior is, get a load of what’s inside: a seven-color leather weave pattern on the seats, with two shades of orange, four different blues, and some cream accents. You almost wouldn’t want to sit inside the car, it looks so special.
This car was handmade for a customer in Minnesota, and gets its grand debut here at Monterey Car Week. There’s nothing more I can say – just see for yourself in the gallery below, and prepare to have your jaw drop.
