2017 Tesla Model S P90D Sets a Quarter Mile Record

The instantaneous amounts of torque present on the Tesla Model S make it a perfect candidate for quarter-mile racing. We’ve seen the car claim victory over brands like Ferrari, Lamborghini, and McLaren, but we’ve yet to see one as quick as this. If you couldn’t already tell by the fascia, this is a brand new Tesla Model S P90D. It’s been upgraded from the previous generation’s 691 horsepower to produce 762 horsepower, making it 10 percent faster to 60 mph than the P85D. And it just broke a quarter mile world record. Taking just 10.804 seconds to conquer the quarter mile, that makes this P90D the fastest Tesla to ever take to a drag strip. For reference, that’s quicker than a Pagani Huayra. Watch it here.
