The Bisimoto-tuned SEMA creation could be yours.
It’s tough when you need the space of a family minivan, but still want that tire-melting crush of four-digit horsepower. Fortunately, there’s a vehicle coming across the auction blocks that meets your needs. A 2014 Honda Odyssey tuned by Bisimoto Engineering to produce 1,029 horsepower can be yours at Mecum’s upcoming Monterey auctions on August 18-20.
The wild one-off minivan debuted at the 2013 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show thanks to a collaboration between Honda and Bisimoto. The tuning firm rebuilt the Odyssey’s V6 engine and strapped on two turbochargers, amping up the power rating to a ludicrous 1,209 hp. The tuners also fitted a six-speed manual transmission, as well as 20-inch wheels, a custom roll cage, and air suspension. It’s a fair bit wilder than your typical family hauler. The minivan was rechristened the “Power Van.” Bisimoto also fitted new leather upholstery and bolted a roof box to the top of the Odyssey.
Mecum Auctions hasn’t yet said how much it hopes to sell the Odyssey for, but it’s a safe guess that the one-of-a-kind van will command a decent sum. The sale is happening just in time for you to bring the tuned Honda Odyssey home before the start of the school year; picking your kids up with this 1,209-hp monster would definitely earn you some street cred in the carpool lane.
