Alpine Celebration 36 Spa-Francorchamps Concept

The storied Renault Alpine is back; at least, a concept of which. The iconic sports car that dominated rally and road racing for a number of years, was nostalgically revived in 2012 (as a concept), and again in 2015 (as a concept again), much to the excitement of enthusiasts everywhere.

But before a new Alpine hits the street in all its sports car glory, even more heritage must be applied to the stunning concept car. This is the Alpine Celebration 36 Spa-Francorchamps / 2016 LMP2 Winner Edition concept created by French artist Monholo Oumar.

Lengthy moniker aside, the Alpine Celebration concept we saw last year was given a race-inspired makeover courtesy of Oumar. Blending heritage old and new, the concept celebrates Renault’s commitment to the World Endurance Championship, and specifically the manufacturer’s win at the Spa-Francorchamps course earlier in the year (May 8th, 2016).

Oumar artfully used the side profile of the vehicle to display Alpine’s number 36, the Spa-Francorchamps course, and the Alpine logo in beautiful succession. New wheels, a central racing stripe, and some extra cues along the roof and rear make the concept even more desirable.

It’s a cherry on top of Alpine’s successful return to the racing grid.
