Ford F-150 Halo Sandcat

Ford, in collaboration with Xbox, 343 Industries, and Galpin Auto Sports, have created a unique F-150 as a celebration of the release of Halo 5: Guardians for Xbox One. This one-of-a-kind vehicle looks to be designed by Master Chief himself, but in actuality, the vehicle is inspired by Halo’s United Nations Space Command vehicle design. This example will be on display at E3 2015. Base MSRP $51,350

Starting life as a production-run 2015 Ford F-150 Lariat SuperCrew with the FX4 off-road package, it was Galpin Auto Sports that swapped several stock components for aftermarket parts, then dressing its exterior with a light bar, new bumpers, and an olive drab wrap, turning the F-150 in the Sandcat. A new suspension system at the front and the rear by Addictive Desert Designs and the company’s Baja XTR package widens the truck’s stance a full seven inches, also allowing for 12 inches of suspension travel at the front. Addictive Desert Designs also then caged the cargo box and bolted on Fox shocks, giving the truck 18 inches of rear wheel travel. A custom steel front bumper features a recovery winch and an LED lightbar, while the rear custom steel bumper houses two LED light pods. In the bed of the truck, a custom headache rack holds a second LED lightbar, along with slots for three Jerry cans of extra fuel.

Many of the changes appear on the exterior of the Sandcat, however there are modifications done to the interior as well. Amongst those modifications is a custom Xbox One gaming system blended seamlessly into the interior. In order to use this gaming system, display monitors have been mounted in the rear of the headrests. Custom badging on the headrests and floor mats makes the Sandcat that much more unique.

The stock F-150 Lariat SuperCrew came with the powerful twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, the same engine that is being used in the new 2017 Ford GT. While not as tuned as the Ford GT’s engine, this engine produces 325 horsepower and 375 lb-ft of torque, meaning that reaching 60 mph comes in at around 8 seconds with a top speed of 125 mph.
