Chevrolet Impala SS Convertible "El Ray" Low Rider

The EL REY lowrider from the US state of California will come across the Big Pond to Essen as a highly decorated car because it has won the prestigious "Lowrider of the Year" prize offered by the leading special magazine called Lowrider. The owner, Albert De Alba, received the trophy at the Las Vegas Super Show.

EL REY (in Spanish: The King) may, in fact, be designated as regal. The basis is an American road cruiser from 1963, a Chevy Impala SS Convertible. Apart from the essential features of the bodywork and the frame, not a lot of the original was left over. The car was lowered with complicated hydraulic technology and Albert de Alba used all of his 25 years of experience on the lowrider scene in order to construct a gem.

The engine used by him came from Chevrolet, the eight-cylinder LT1 from 1996 with a capacity of 5.7 litres and a power of max. 300 bhp.
