Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Pirelli Edition
2015 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Pirelli Edition
Pirelli tires and Lambo have had a 52-year exclusive relationship with the Italian manufacturer only using the Italian company’s tires on its cars. That relationship is celebrated with the 2015 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Pirelli Edition.
Ferrucio Lamborghini looked to Pirelli for his company’s very first car: the 350 GTV that was shown as a prototype at the Turin Motor Show in 1963. Technically, Pirelli and Lamborghini have a relation that pre-dates the first Lambo ever sold to the public.
As demonstrated, it’s a historical collaboration that continues. Pirelli is the exclusive supplier of the one-make series Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo. The 2015 Lamborghini Huracán wears specially developed P Zero tires that bear a distinctive “L” in honor of the Italian supercar.
The most distinctive tie-in to the Pirelli legacy is the thin-red stripe that runs the length of the car from the roof to the hood on the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Pirelli Edition. It’s also incorporated into the sideview mirrors and the air intakes. You will also spot the Pirelli logo where the roof line commences as well as, naturally, on the Pirelli tires.
The Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Pirelli Edition comes in a two-tone color: itself available in two options. There is matte black for the roof, side pillars, sideview mirrors, the hood over the engine. The intakes upfront, in back, and along the side (as well as the moving air intakes) are also matte black. Six glossy finishes can be selected for the remainder of the car: Giallo Spica, Rosso Mars, Bianco Isis, Nero Aldebaran, Grigio Liqueo, and Grigio Ater.
If matte black isn’t to your liking, the upper parts of the LamboAventador LP700-4 Pirelli Edition can be finished in glossy black in place of the matte black with four-matte finishes available for the rest of the outside in these colors: Bianco Canopus, Nero Nemesis, Grigio Adamas, and Grigio Titans.
The interior is a mixture of black Alcantara (with red contrast stitching to mark the Pirelli connection) and leather. The exterior’s red stripe moves inside to run along the ceiling and over the seats. The latter feature the logos of both Pirelli and Lamborghini.
Just to make you feel even more special, each Lamborghini Aventador is equipped with a Pirelli special series plaque mounted in the interior.
The Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Pirelli Edition is not just a marketing gimmick. It still performs on the road or on the track. The V12 engine spews out 700 horsepower 0-60 is done blisteringly fast in 2.9 seconds. Its top speed is almost 220 mph.
