Indian Motorcycle, America’s first motorcycle company, today announces the launch of the 2015 Indian Scout, a contemporary yet classic interpretation of one of motorcycling’s most famous and coveted bikes.
Throughout the entire frame, Indian has retained its classic motifs but with a significantly modern look, bordering on sculptural.
Riders will sit low on the chassis due to a 25.3-inch seat height and undoubtedly ride easy thanks to the monotube rear shocks, leather bucket seat, and relaxed 31 degrees of lean angle.
With this classic look, buyers will be able to choose between Thunder Black, Indian Motorcycle Red, and two matte finishes: Silver Smoke, and Thunder Black Smoke.
Power comes courtesy of Indian’s newly developed 69 cubic inch V-twin, pumping out an impressive 100-horsepower. This power is fed through a six-speed overdrive transmission, and peak torque output is rated at 72 lb-ft at 5,900 rpm.
With a starting MSRP of $10,999 and a DNA that will appeal to riders of multiple skill sets and abilities, the new Scout was unveiled Saturday night to a gathering of press, VIPs and celebrities at the 2014 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Rally attendees are encouraged to be among the first to test ride the 2015 Indian Scout at the Indian Motorcycle Demo Experience on I-90 @ Exit 30 in Sturgis, South Dakota, which runs through Saturday, August 9.
