Chevrolet 3100 1/2 Pickup
In order to provide a much needed facelift to its line of Advance Design trucks, the GM Division had a young designer named Chuck Jordan work up a new concept, boldly called the “Task Force.” This 1957 1/2 Task Force Pickup is from the third season of the design. Carrying 1957’s new, bolder grille in its chrome version, it has the subtle white accent on the rear cab corners and the jaunty high-mounted spare on the left rear fender. A recipient of a recent high-quality rotisserie restoration to its good, original condition, it now has show-quality paint on its very straight body. The box is correctly finished with a varnished oak floor. Accessories include chrome hub caps and trim rings, chrome side mirrors and window shields, seat belts, and directional signals. Like most pickups of its era, it is not equipped with a radio, but it has the correct “delete plate” in the dashboard.
