BMW M3 DTM Champion Edition
The year 2012 marked the 40th anniversary of BMW’s M subsidiary company and to celebrate, the company created a special BMW M3 DTM Champion Edition. Built as tributes to Bruno Spengler’s championship win in the DTM 2012 season, these special editions will be limited to only 54 units representing all of the 54 BMW DTM races in history.
These special editions will come with the competition package, M Drive, M DCT Drivelogic and the M Driver’s Package as standard and are painted Frozen Black, which resembles a matte black finish.
Because this comes standard with the competition package, it has matte black 19” Style 359 wheels, a carbon fiber rear deck spoiler, carbon fiber front lip splitters, and various dark chrome elements. A standout feature of this DTM Edition is the BMW M-stripe design over the carbon fiber roof and boot lid along with the BMW M logos at the rear of the front wheel arches and the decals in the rear side windows.
On the inside of the cabin, 2013 BMW M3 has added a carbon-fiber trim strip featuring the champion driver Bruno Spengler’s signature as well as the car’s serial number. More Alcantara covers the handbrake lever embroidered with “M Power” badges and the entire steering wheel. Black Novillo leather extends to the doors and trim of the car featuring contrasting Palladium Silver stitching.
The powertrain of the DTM Champion Edition remains the same 4.0-liter V8 as in the standard BMW M3. Producing 414 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, this matte black menace does 0-60 from a dead stop in just 4.5 seconds, reaching a limited top speed of 155 mph.
The 2013 BMW M3 DTM Champion Edition was produced out of BMW’s Regensburg plant in 2013 and carried an MSRP of about $130,000.
